Jersey City Medical Center to Provide Free Pap Smear Exams

This week, on January13th, the Jersey City Medical Center will provide free Pap smear exams to women age 21 and older without insurance in honor of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

“I’m just not ready to quit”, says Raul (DjRv ) Vicente Jr.  Vicente, aka DjRv as he likes to be called these days, has put out three cd’s.  Two salsa songs; one with English lead vocals and one with Spanish lead vocals.  You can find them for sale on iTunes and other platforms says Vicente but to his chagrin little if any sales have been generated.

And his third, attempt as recent as last year, was a Spanish remake of Mariah Careys hit song “My All”. It’s called “Yo Daria Todo”.

The Hudson County Community College (HCCC)Foundation Board of Directors announced that their 25th Anniversary Gala celebration on Thursday, December 8, 2022, raised nearly $600,000. The event’s theme, “Investing in Student Success,” marked the debut of a new endowed scholarship fund, the Hudson Scholars Program Endowment, that will generate perpetual funding assistance to support student success.

HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber said the initial goal for the fund is $3 million over the next several years through gifts, grants, and other investments.

The Art House Gallery presents The Affordable Art Show

Art House Productions (Executive Director Meredith Burns, Gallery Director Andrea McKenna) is proud to present “The Affordable Art Show,” an annual December event with works priced $500 and under. Curated by Andrea McKenna, the show includes over 150 works of art from 89 artists. Showcasing special pieces with gift-giving in mind, all works are priced to be especially affordable for the holiday season. Works include paintings, small sculptures, handmade gifts, and more! All works will be for sale in the Art House Gallery at The Hendrix at 345 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07302.

The Affordable Art Show will be open starting on JC Fridays, December 2nd from 6:00pm – 9:00pm and then on Saturdays and Sundays December 3rd – December 18th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. The Gallery will be open Monday December 19th – Thursday, December 22nd from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. There will be a closing holiday party on Friday, December 23rd 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

November 18, 2022, Jersey City, NJ – The Board of Directors of the Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Foundation invites the community to join the silver anniversary celebration of their annual Gala Fundraiser. The December 8, 2022 event will be held at the College’s Culinary Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City, NJ, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Guests will tour the award-winning HCCC Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) kitchens, enjoy world-class cuisine prepared and presented by HCCC CAI students, alumni, and chef-instructors, and view a sampling of the over 2,000 original works from the HCCC Foundation Art Collection.
