At this time of difficulty in our national and regional economy, I wanted to get the latest information available to help our community. Bayonne and other New Jersey cities must become engines of economic growth.”

JOE BATAAN JOINS SOUL GENERATION & PRIME

 On Friday evening, November 28, from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at the Miller Branch Library, 489 Bergen Avenue in Jersey City, homegrown Soul Generation and PRIME, and ‘newcomer’ (to the annual line up) Joe Bataan perform the songs that made them famous. This is the third consecutive performance by Joe Bataan, known as the King of Latin R&B, at Miller’s Live Entertainment.

HEALY PRESENTS GRANT TO HUDSON COUNTY HABITAT Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy (center, left) presents a check on behalf of the Jerramiah T. Healy Charitable Foundation to Margaret Cook-Levy, President of Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County that will go towards finishing two new homes for two Jersey City families. Provident Bank collects Coats for distribution at the Sharing Place Food Pantry

 Sharing Place volunteers, Minerva Alvarado-Metzler, a systems analyst for McCarter & English, and Paul LaCourtna, a train conductor for PATH, distribute coats, hats and gloves at the Sharing Place, a food pantry located at 440 Hoboken Avenue. The coats were donated by The Provident Bank, which collected new and gently used coats in its 83 branches. Provident is continuing the coat drive through November 8. The next distribution of coats and food will be on Saturday, November 22 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Defeating former municiapal Judge Patrick Conghan with over 5,000 votes and also beating candidates Former Mayor Richard Rutkowski, Bayonne City Clerk Robert Sloan and Robert Gokecki zoning commissioner.
