FulopWard F Councilman Jermaine Robinson, and City officials join the Jersey City Parks Coalition and community members today at the groundbreaking for the transformation of Fairmount Triangle Park with a renovation and expansion project designed to make the neighborhood park much more safely accessible and increase outdoor recreational space for local residents of all ages to enjoy. The $200,000 grant-funded parks improvement project transforms two street segments that bisect existing green spaces – at the intersection of Fairmount and Summit Avenues – to create an uninterrupted public park space.

CANCOlofts Condominium In Jersey City Celebrates Groundbreaking For CANCOpark

Photo by Steveamack.com- Jersey City officials join with representatives of CANCOlofts, the industrial-to-residential conversion of the historic American Can Company factory, at the groundbreaking ceremony for CANCOpark, a lush, 15,000-square-foot green space that will be open to the public.

Park Will Be Built For Use By Residents And Community

 

JERSEY CITY, N.J.  – CANCOlofts, an industrial-to-residential condominium loft building in Jersey City, celebrated the groundbreaking on Sept. 10 for CANCOpark, a public park that is being constructed across the street from CANCOlofts, at 50 Dey Street.

 CANCOpark, which will offer 15,000 square feet of green space, landscaping, seating and a walking path, is expected to be complete by the end of October. The park will be open for the enjoyment of CANCOlofts residents as well as residents of the neighborhood, contributing to the already appealing lifestyle of the unique property, formerly the American Can Co.

VNA Awarded $295,000 Grant Allocation for Village Park Project

The Village Neighborhood Association, in collaboration with The Jersey City Parks Coalition, has received the highly sought after recommendation from the Hudson County Open Space Trust Fund Board of Directors and County Executive Tom DeGise for $295,000 of matching funds for the redevelopment of The Village Park on First Street in The Village section of Downtown Jersey City. This is huge!

Throughout the Winter and early Spring of 2010, members of the VNA, The Jersey City Parks Coalition, and Future Green Studios painstakingly compiled and completed the phone-book sized grant application. On April 8, 2010, designer David Seiter (Future Green Studio), Jim Ayers (VNA Vice President), Michele La Monica-Egar (Jersey City Parks Coalition) and myself pitched our formal presentation to the the Hudson County Board of trustees. And then, we waited….
