REAL ESTATE-Jersey City’s CANCOlofts Features True Loft Living With Fabulous Amenities
Appeal of Lifestyle Draws Buyers From Throughout the Metropolitan Area
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (March 26, 2010) – Though cabin fever might have been a problem for some during the recent winter storms, Shawn and Mayura Norville, residents at CANCOlofts in Jersey City, N.J., dealt with their need to get out by simply going downstairs, where they could take advantage of CANCO’s wealth of amenities, including a basketball court, billiard room and media center.
And even when they were at home in their two-bedroom condominium, the soaring 14-foot ceilings, 8-foot entry and interior doors, dramatic mushroom-capped columns and abundant light from the 9-foot window walls conveyed a sense of openness and space that helped counteract the winter blues, as well as reminding the Norvilles that they are living in a piece of history. Johnny Maestro Passes Away
A singing career that has lasted over 5 decades ended last night when Johnny Maestro 71 died from cancer. The lead singer of the Crests had one of the most successful integrated doo wop groups in the 1950s, the Crests waxed the classic ballad “16 Candles” in 1959. Formed in 1956, Johnny Maestro’s (b. May 7, 1939) warm tenor made “16 Candles” a national smash, and pop/R&B hybrids like “The Angels Listened In” and “Step by Step” also did well. Maestro went solo in 1960, scoring the next year with “Model Girl” on Coed, while the Crests attempted to survive on their own. Maestro eventually reclaimed stardom as leader of Brooklyn Bridge,, an 11-piece aggregation that hit with “Worst That Could Happen” in 1968. source Bill Dahl, All Music Guide
I knew Johnny Maestro having first met him in 1982 when our singing group the Heartaches opened for him at Richard Nader’s Doo-Wop show at the New Yorks’ Felt Forum. He was very kind to us, a group of unkowns and made us feel very welcomed at such a large venue. Our group went on to play several other venues with Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge througout the 1980s.
In the music world Johnny Maestro will be missed for his talent and friendship.
such notable hits as “The Angels Listened In” and also he was lead singer of the the Brooklyn Bridge with hits throughout the 1960s with songs “The Worst that Could Happen”

Emmy-award winning actress Tammy Blanchard recalls growing up in the 1980s a shy girl who cherished Judy Garland’s performance in “The Wizard of Oz,” and dreamed of her own stardom in her tiny bedroom.  In the past ten years, Blanchard’s break-out performances as Judy Garland and other complex women have received critical acclaim and respect from her peers. And like Garland, whom Blanchard calls her “angel,” when it comes to playing a role or singing a song, her shyness disappears and she becomes a chameleon blending herself into the part and in the process turning in dynamic, edge-of-your-seat performances that are anything but shy.

River View Observer “Site Seeing” Bringing you interesting posts from around the web”
New Jersey – March 22, 2010 – The combination of bar hopping and gym-going can often be a double-edged sword. While everyone enjoys a great night out, the next day results in a sluggish, slow day that seems to negate the effects of frequent gym visits. Enter Andrew Adelman and Devotion Vodka. A fitness and nightlife enthusiast himself, Adelman felt the spirits market was lacking a product that could coincide with customers’ goals. So Devotion Vodka was born, the first premium vodka infused with Casein. Casein is a protein that prevents the breakdown of muscle and actually helps build it. The patented proprietary solution found only in Devotion Vodka is quickly transforming the cocktail in San Francisco (where it launched in November), while also defining a new generation of vodka aficionados who devote themselves fully to everything they do in life.
