an exhibition guest curated by RocÃo Aranda–Alvarado and on view at Jersey City Museum February 5 though August 22, 2010. Hair Tactics features over 30 visual artists whose artworks explore hair as subject matter and medium. Increasingly, artists have begun to use both real and synthetic human hair to create works of art. Some use synthetic hair because it is widely and inexpensively available in urban neighborhoods, others because it is laden with social and political meaning, and still others because they are exploring the human obsession with hair. JERSEY CITY – Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy along with the Office of Emergency Management and the Jersey City Incinerator Authority (JCIA) announced today the city’s snow emergency plan in preparation for expected snow fall tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
A snow emergency is when more than three inches of snow falls, such as during a Nor’easter, and requires that residents do not park on designated snow routes. The emergency routes are main thoroughfares that have to be plowed by the Jersey City Incinerator Authority, and on designated days residents should utilize side streets for parking. BETHPAGE, N.Y., January 25, 2010 – John Celestand, former NBA player and member of the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship team in 2000, has come back to his New Jersey roots, as a Garden State basketball play-by-play announcer for MSG Varsity.
 Celestand, an alumnus of Piscataway High School, helped lead the Chiefs to two consecutive County Championships. He went on to play at Villanova University scoring, 227 points in 124 career games from 1995-99. He was drafted in the second round of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Lakers. Mayor Mark A. Smith and Police Chief Robert Kubert announced that the Bayonne Police Department arrested two men on marijuana charges on January 26 after discovering them at 65 New Hook Road. The men arrested were Gordon T. Peters, 42, of Miramar, Florida, and Jason L. Peters, 21, of Miami, Florida. They were charged with possession of over 25 pounds of marijuana, and possession of marijuana within 500 feet of a public walkway.
