jc-fridays-tag-line

JC Fridays, Jersey City’s acclaimed city-wide celebration of arts and culture, returns on Friday, March 5, 2010 with events happening throughout day, including art exhibitions, live music, performances, and educational demonstrations. All events are free and open to the public. A complete list of events, a map of all event locations, and more details can be found at http://jcfridays.com

JC Fridays was created in 2005 by a coalition of artists, arts organizations and local businesses that wanted to showcase Jersey City’s exciting and burgeoning cultural landscape. Today Art House Productions and JC Fridays’ Major Sponsors present this eagerly anticipated quarterly event, taking place at the start of every season, where both residents and visitors can celebrate the growing vibrancy and distinct charm that Jersey City has to offer. Since its inception, the number of participants has more than doubled through increasing outreach to Jersey City’s neighborhoods, organizations, businesses and artists. JC Fridays is made possible through a grant by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, with major support provided by the State of New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Program and a host of other sponsors and patrons. POWERHOUSE ARTS FESTIVAL-September 12th

sept-12-power-house

The 4th  Annual Powerhouse Arts Festival

 11:00am to 6:00pm.

The annual Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association’s barbeque and crafts fair will have all the fine arts, nifty crafts, music, cheap beer and block-partying good times of last year, this year PDNA is adding a bunch more vendor spaces and hopefully some live art this year.

PDNA is seeking VOLUNTEERS for the day of the event. They will need people to help with set up, grill-manning (or woman-ing), beer pouring, etc. There will be free food and drink for all who volunteer, plus that special warm and fuzzy feeling that comes with contributing to a good cause. For more information or to sign up, email Jessica.

The festival is also a fundraiser for the Association. Much of our operating income for the year comes from the Fest – so tell your friends and come eat, drink, and be merry in service of the neighborhood.
