Armed with your camera—whether it’s an iPhone, Android, or DSLR—you’ll explore iconic sites such as Lackawanna Terminal, the waterfront, the Little League field, Sybil’s Cave, and Washington Street, capturing the city through both a creative and documentary lens.

Project Greenville Call to Artists to Participate in Past, Present Future Exhibit

Open Call:

Project Greenville is having an open call for participants for their upcoming PAST PRESENT FUTURE show, a group art show featuring work that explores how memories, moments, and hopes are interpreted, depicted, and reckoned with by our local artists!

  So far, from their social media mentions on the open call, they have received some great entries that feature everything from the sentimental to the humorous to the dreamlike.  Project Greenville looks forward for to artists taking on this theme and encourages all to reach out with any questions and share this info with those you think would be interested

Work is due by Sept 6th, or ideally sooner if possible. Art House Productions (Executive Artistic Director Meredith Burns) is proud to present ten exciting events remaining in August in celebration of Jersey City Pride Month. Taking place at Art House Productions, located at 345 Marin Boulevard, this robust lineup underscores the organization’s commitment to amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices, fostering inclusivity, and creating accessible spaces for all.

From drag and dance to film, comedy, and community conversations, Art House’s Pride programming offers something for everyone. Designed to uplift and celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community, these events provide meaningful opportunities for connection, expression, and joy.

Proceeds from select events will benefit Jersey City Pride, directly supporting their mission of visibility, advocacy, and celebration.

$2.7 Million Investment Reinvigorates Former Paved Lot into Dynamic 16th Street Park

 Mayor Steven M. Fulop joined City Council members, the Department of Infrastructure, residents, and community leaders to officially cut the ribbon on the brand-new 16th Street Park, marking the completion of a $2.7 million transformation from an asphalt basketball lot into one of the city’s most dynamic and inclusive green spaces.

In New Jersey, a Health Officer is responsible for evaluating health problems and planning appropriate actions to address those problems.  A Health Officer must have either a doctorate or a master’s degree in a health-related field.  A candidate for Health Officer must have at least two years of full-time employment, which provides administrative experience in three of five recognized public health activities.  A successful candidate for Health Officer must pass a state-administered, two-part examination.   Ms. Siciliano, who served previously as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist, earned a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) at William Paterson University.  Ms. Siciliano said, “I am very excited to assume the duties of Health Officer.  I look forward to working with colleagues in Bayonne and around the state to safeguard the health of our residents.”

JC PRIDE 

North River Sing will have a booth at Jersey City Pride on Saturday, August 23, 2025.  This is the 3rd year we will have participated in this event, and it’s a great way for us to connect with the Jersey City community.   If you will be attending the event, make sure to stop by our booth, located on Newark Ave., between Bay St. and Jersey Ave., near the Bank of America. We’ll be sharing concert dates in the near future. 

Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children Sends 6 Teens to U.S. Space Academy, 4, from Jersey City Schools

The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC), a partner of the Archdiocese of Newark, recently gave six incoming high school seniors from archdiocesan Catholic schools the summer of a lifetime by providing scholarships to attend the prestigious Advanced Space Academy at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala.
