casa

Hudson County CASA is currently recruiting volunteers from all municipalities in Hudson County to represent foster children in the court system.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate and its volunteers speak for children in court, serve as fact finders for the judges, and safeguard the interests of the children while they are in the foster care system.

Their next information Session regarding the program and the role of its volunteers will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 6:00-7:00pm in Room # 901, in the Hudson County Administration Building at 595 Newark Avenue, in Jersey City. Please utilize the side or rear entrances as the main entrance of the building is locked after 5 p.m.

Hudson County has more than 700 children in foster care and most have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect.
