At a special ceremony in the Jersey City's, City Hall, Mayor Jerramiah Healy presented Wrestling legend Bruno Samartino with a Proclamation and Key to the City of Jersey City.Sammartino has fought at different venues in Jersey City during his lengthly career as a wrestler.
Sammartino was in the Jersey City area for his induction ceremony at the Meadowlands Sports Complex on Satruday, April 6th where he is to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Bruno Sammartino, also knows as the “The Living Legend will be presented with a proclamation from Mayor Healy in recognition of his accomplishments for his well-known and lengthy wrestling career. GRANVILLE, OH (04/01/2013)(readMedia)– Autumn Stiles of Jersey City (07304) performed the role of a chorus member in “Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God,” which was presented over seven nights at Denison University’s Black Box Theatre.

The play reveals an epic story of remarkable love, incredible heists, an extraordinary dying wish and communities that know pride and keep faith. Award-winning Canadian playwright Djanet Sears has set this moving, poetic, and ultimately life-affirming drama in present-day Negro Creek, a 200-year-old black community in Western Ontario. Supporting the action of the play is a “chorus of souls,” ancestral beings who provide a window into African tradition and beliefs. Family-friendly fundraiser will provide scholarships for deserving students

                                                           

Jhccc-logo300dpiERSEY CITY, N.J. / April 3, 2013 — Families from the area are invited to gather for an evening of fun and goodwill on Friday, April 5, 2013 when the Hudson County Community College Foundation holds its 11th annual “Night at the Races” fundraiser.

 The trotters race event will be held indoors at the Meadowlands Race Track, Pegasus East starting at 6 p.m. (post time is 7:15 p.m.). Proceeds will be dedicated to providing scholarships for deserving Hudson County Community College students and for the College’s growth and development. City Of Jersey City Working with Red Cross to Assist Victims of Belmont Avenue Fire

JERSEY CITY SEAL LOGOJersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy announced today that the Mayor’s Office and the

Mayor’s Action Bureau, as well as the Jersey City Fire Department, are working with the

Hudson County Chapter of the American Red Cross to assist the victims of last week’s fire on

Belmont Avenue that destroyed six homes.

 

To date, donations have been received from Modell’s, ShopRite Inserra Foods and the Healy

BMC_photoBayonne, NJ — In an effort to improve and expand the scope of educational experience and to offer students an opportunity to earn an advanced degree in nursing, the Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing and Christ Hospital School of Nursing will merge in the fall of 2014.

Both Christ Hospital and Bayonne Medical Center’s School of Nursing have been staples of education in Hudson County since the 1890’s. Each school has a rich and varied history, with a common goal of providing a superior education and the highest quality care to patients. The faculties of both institutions are devoted to ensuring the continuation of this goal. The merging of Bayonne Medical Center and Christ Hospital’s School of Nursing will provide a wealth of opportunities to the students of both institutions — enhancing their clinical expertise through experiences not only in the hospital, but through interactions within the communities themselves. Hudson County Community College the ‘Topping Out’ of New Library & Academic Building

Area elected officials and College administrators, faculty and staff to sign topmost beam at April 2 event

Healy, Hudson County Community College Board of Trustees Chair William J. Netchert, Esq. and other Trustees, Hudson County Community College President Glen Gabert and members of the College’s administration, faculty and staff will be in attendance for the Topping Out Ceremonies for the new Hudson County Community College Library & Academic Building, currently under construction at 71 Sip Avenue in Jersey City, NJ.

The event will begin with remarks in the lobby of the College’s Administration Building (70 Sip Avenue) on the Journal Square Campus in Jersey City and will proceed across the street to the site of the Library & Academic Building.

Located on the corner where Monmouth Street meets Newark Avenue, the Golden Grille opened its doors a month ago to bring Fusion Churrascaria to an already busy neighborhood. The owners of the new Golden Grille transformed this corner location– it used to be a dessert place – into a hip 26-seat bistro with a contemporary design and house specialty: Fusion Churrascaria – charcoal grilled meats with a smoky barbecue flavor that’s mouth-wateringly delicious (think Brazilian/Portuguese barbecue).  Golden Grille also serves seafood and pasta and all the dishes are made with fresh ingredients.
