Dante Alighieri Society of Jersey City Ladies Auxiliary Holds Fund-Raiser

Dante Aligheiri Society of Jersey City The DANTE ALIGHIERI SOCIETY OF JERSEY CITY — WOMEN’S AUXILIARY held their annual fund-raiser on Saturday, May 9th, 2015  to raise money for scholarships that will be handed out  to  qualified candidates who will be attending college  in the Hudson County area.

Also on hand at the Women’s Auxiliary fundraiser was  the Men’s Organization of Dante Alighieri : Pictured above Margaret L. Norton, Chairperson of Ladies Auxiliary, Al Cupo ,Chairman of the Board, of Men’s Dante Alighieri Society, Maryanne Costello, President of Women’s Auxiliary and Tony Catanio, President of  Dante Alighieri Men’s Organization and Guy Catrillo, member of Dante Alighieri Society.

What better place to see leaves change than at the 4th annual BBQ Festival in beautiful Hamilton Park on Pavonia Ave in Jersey City, just a few blocks south of the Holland Tunnel. A large crowd attended Saturday, September 28th, event. the NJ Beer Company – a local Craft brewer  was on hand  – live music by local bands and some lip-smacking, finger-licking BBQ chicken, pork and beef grilled over an open flame giving festival-goers one last BBQ dream before the big chill.

Artist Ron English, Jason Maloney and Bigfoot kick off work on New Mural in Downtown, Jersey City

Downtown Jersey City got a splash of color on Tuesday when artists Jason Maloney, Bigfoot and Ron English kicked off work on a new mural at Hudson County Art Supply. This project, the first in a proposed series of murals to be painted by well-known local and national artists throughout the city, is part of a citizen effort to make the municipality a destination for contemporary art.
