New Jersey Turnpike Authority Officials, Bayonne  Mayor Jimmy Davis The Bayonne City Council,  Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, New Jersey State Senator Sandra Cunningham, Assemblyman Charles Mainor,Jersey City  Deputy Director Vivian Brady-Philips  broke ground  on Wednesday, March 11th for the $310 million NJ Turnpike Authority’s Interchange 14 A Improvement Project.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – CBRE Group, Inc. announced today that it has arranged the sale of 2866 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, N.J. for approximately $1.2 million. The three-story mixed-use building is fully occupied, with Subway residing in its ground floor retail space and occupied multifamily apartments comprising the second and third floors. The 4,200-square-foot property is located in the heart of Journal Square, one of the most active markets in the Tri-State area.Â

On Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 11am – 2pm, the Peninsula Women’s Club will host their 2nd Annual Women of Achievement Brunch. The Brunch will be held at The Chandelier located at 1081 Broadway, Bayonne NJ and the cost is $35.00 per person.
The Club’s motto is “striving for a better community†and the brunch honors a woman, as well as a young woman, who they feel lives this motto. Madeline Lo Re, a local business owner, has worked within our community to bring awareness to others for various cancer treatments and precautions. Briel Peters, a high school Junior, is involved with her community, school and Church with many different activities. PWC celebrates these women for all they do for our community.
The Gimme Shelter Project grew from Michelle Vitale’s work  with the homeless and it is to bring awareness to the 16% homeless increase in New Jersey(taken from the Homeless Point In Time Count).
Ms. Vitale has created 8 out of 16 weatherized blankets with the intent to give them away after the full 16 are made. The other 8 have organized Stitch Ins so the community can contribute to the project.

Actor Harrison Ford crashed his 1942 single-engine World War II training plane, a Ryan Aeronautical model ST3KR on Thursday. Ford crashed shortly after taking off from Santa Monica Airport and landed on Penmar Golf Course in Venice California.
According to NBC4 News the actor is fine and has been treated for some gashes.
A later report indicated that Ford walked away from the accident to a waiting ambulance.
Ford has survived previous plane and helicopter crashes in the past.
A video released by NBC4 News shows the plane Ford was piloting right before the crash.
 Imagine Kanye West and his entourage blowing into Jersey City to check out its club scene. That’s exactly what happened on Feb. 11th when West made a surprise visit to The Dopeness on Second Street. The rapper stopped by The Dopeness to check out the club’s vibe and according to owners Anthony Gude, Steven Schlatmann and Jonathan Scanlon, West sat and listened to the band on stage, shook hands with fans and then blew out the door with his entourage. He connected with The Dopeness and that’s exactly what Gude, Schlatmann and Scanlon want as the take-away for all their customers.

This week, Jersey City resident Willie Mae Cobbs celebrated a major milestone, her 105th birthday! Family, friends, fellow residents and staff threw her a birthday party at Alaris Health at HarborView where she resides.
Ms. Cobbs has lived at HarborView for the past few years as a long-term care resident. Even at age 105, Ms. Cobbs remains passionate about dancing, her weekly bingo games and attending church services.
Ms. Cobbs first moved to New Jersey from her home town of Bowman, South Carolina to work as a laundry care professional. She has four sons and one grandson. She says her key to aging well is to always take care of yourself.
