New Jersey Turnpike Construction Update 14A Interchange

14A constuction project Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis  announced that the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and its contractors have provided the City of Bayonne with updated information about the New Jersey Turnpike reconstruction of interchange 14A.

In the toll plaza area, toll lane and toll island construction are continuing on the west side. Nighttime closures of certain toll lanes are expected on weeknights for two weeks, starting August 13, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Other toll lanes will remain open in both directions during that period. Traffic flow will continue. Construction of a new building continues on the east side. Utility construction work is proceeding. Sign structure foundation work is moving ahead on the east side. Bayonne NJ’s Ribbon Cutting for 4.1 Million Dollar State of the Art Firehouse

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis, Fire Chief Greg Rogers, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, U.S. Rep. Albio Sires and U.S. Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. Bayonne City Council members, Firemen assigned to the new firehouse and Bayonne’s first female firefighter Cailin Brodel, a 2nd grade class all wearing fire hats from Nicholas Oresko School,Bayonne superintendent of schools Patricia McGeehan and members of the public were in attendance for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Bayonne’s 10, 600 Sq.ft. 4.1 million dollar new Firehouse.

The first to open in 40 years and the first standalone firehouse in over 80 years.
Located on Chosen Few Avenue the 160 ft wide fire house designed by RSC Archetics of Newark is a state of the art marvel with all kinds of high-tech equipment to keep the Bayonne community safe
for years to come.
