Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis announces developer of harbor station south

(Bayonne, NJ) – Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis today announced Kate Howard LTD as the developer of Harbor Station South in Bayonne.

Harbor South Bayonne Harbor Station South is the designation used for the southwest portion of the former Military Ocean Terminal (MOT) at Bayonne. “This is a major step in the right direction as we pursue full development of the MOT,” said Mayor Davis. Development of the MOT has topped the Davis administration’s agenda as one of its primary goals.

Bayonne Bridge Construction Project Update

Bayonne Bridge Construction Updates River View ObserverBayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has provided new information about the latest developments in the Bayonne Bridge construction project.

At Pier N2, south of 1st Street, by the shoreline, footings are under construction.  At Piers N3, N4, and N5, located south of 1st Street, work has been completed for now.

 At Pier N6 & Pier N7, north of 1st Street (between 1st and 2nd Streets), drill shaft work and excavation for sixteen footings are underway.  The Port Authority will be working in this area until December.  Continue reading Bayonne Bridge Construction Project Update

New Jersey Turnpike Authority Officials, Bayonne  Mayor Jimmy Davis The Bayonne City Council,  Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, New Jersey State Senator Sandra Cunningham, Assemblyman Charles Mainor,Jersey City  Deputy Director Vivian Brady-Philips  broke ground  on Wednesday, March 11th for the $310 million NJ Turnpike Authority’s Interchange 14 A Improvement Project.

Bayonne Bridge Construction Update from the City of Bayonne

 

 

Bayonne Bridge Construction Updates River View ObserverMayor Jimmy Davis announced that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has advised the City of Bayonne concerning the latest developments in the Bayonne Bridge construction project.

The assembly of the gantry is 95% complete.  The gantry will have a load and performance test on December 8. This gantry will carry the pre-cast roadway slabs to the new piers.  The piers are the columns that will hold up the roadway.  The crane height will start at 120 feet and then grow to 300 feet once it gets closer to the Kill Van Kull.  The crane started constructing new piers on November 14 near Margaret Street and 5th Street. The gantry base is at 6th Street and travels the entire length of the bridge.  Sometime this fall, another crane will be in service working on the south end of Bayonne near 1st Street. Bayonne Bridge Construction Project Update

This gantry will carry the pre-cast roadway slabs to the new piers.  The piers are the columns that will hold up the roadway.  The crane height will start at 120 feet and then grow to 300 feet once it gets closer to the Kill Van Kull.  The gantry base is at 6th Street and travels the entire length of the bridge.  Sometime this fall, another crane will be in service working on the south end of Bayonne near 1st Street.

 More than 30 Artists to Exhibit at Bayonne Museum – One Day Only

Artist Bill Zbylut will exhibit his oil paintings like the two picture: “Jackie Gleason as the Man from Space” and “My Back Porch”.

 For one day only, the work of more than  30 artists pops up at the Bayonne Museum in “Bayonne: The Peninsula (Water Colors)” art show where each artist has a 4-foot display area to make their own.

On Sat, Oct. 25, from 1-10 pm, some pretty terrific painters, photographers, sculptors and mixed-media artists will display and sell their works, many depicting Bayonne’s beautiful vistas. The exhibit is a joint venture between Deb Peveler and Lou Segura of All Fit Studios in

The residents of Bayonne came out in numbers on Saturday October 18th, 2014 for the Bayonne Bergen Point Fall Festival.
The first festival for Bayonne in a few years and one that Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis and Bayonne Urban Enterprise Director Terrence Malloy and the Bergen Point Merchants felt the city should have.
The festival featured music, entertainment,great food, inflatable rides,balloon sculpture and much more

Bayonne’s “Feet to the Street” September 21st Event Aims to Keep Bayonne Clean

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis’ performance as well as of his city council slate in the June 10 election were described by some political pundits as achieving a “clean sweep.”

On September 21, Davis and other city residents plan to do it for real.

Bayonne’s Feet To The Street Clean-up Event, sponsored by Davis and City Hall, will begin at City Hall Park (26th Street and Avenue C) at 9 am and will finish up at Gorman Field (1st Street and Humphrey Avenue) with a celebratory picnic with music and games.
