Blue Dawg Band to Offer Concert at Bayonne Community Museum on Monday, February 22
Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that The Blue Dawg Band will present a free concert at the Bayonne Community Museum on Monday, February 22. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Theconcert will start at 7:00 p.m. The Blue Dawg concert will be the first show in a series called “Musical Mondays at the Museum,†which will continue on various Mondays during the winter and spring of 2016. Mayor Davis said, “The Bayonne Community Museum is a great place for a concert. We would like to encourage more of our residents to come and enjoy the arts at this beautiful location for special events.â€
This free concert is sponsored by the Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) and First Ward Council Member Tom Cotter. Light refreshments will be served.

Art Exhibit Opens Saturday, September 22, at Bayonne Community Museum
The recently formed Art Circle of Bayonne will have its first exhibit, beginning with an opening reception on Saturday, September 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Bayonne Community Museum, 229 Broadway, at 9th Street. That reception will be free and open to the public.
Mayor Mark A. Smith said, “I am looking forward to this exhibit. This is an exciting opportunity for local artists to show their work at the Bayonne Community Museum. ART CIRCLE OF BAYONNE ANNOUNCES FIRST MEMBERS SHOW/SALE
INTERESTED ARTISTS STILL Â HAVE TIME TO PARTICIPATE IN NEW MEMBER ART CIRLCLE SHOW
The newly formed Art Circle of Bayonne announces its first Members Show/Sale with an Opening Reception open to the public on Friday, September 21st in the Bayonne Community Museum, 229 Broadway, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
 The show will run from September 22nd through the 29th, Monday through Friday, 5:00 -7:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. The show is not open on Sunday.
Anyone interested in participating in the show is required to join the Art Circle of  Bayonne; residency in Bayonne is not a requirement for membership. Entry Forms with detailed guidelines and Membership Registration Forms are available at Ferdez Gallery, 237 Broadway, Bayonne.  Entry is limited to the first 60 applicants. All artists will be  required to hang their own matted and framed 2D work on Saturday, September 15.   Pick up of work will be Sunday,  September 30. The opening reception which ran from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. drew many Bayonne dignitaries, residents, and family and friends of the  artists who participated.

Art Exhibit and Opening Reception Scheduled at Bayonne Community Museum
Bayonne Mayor Mark A. Smith is pleased to announce that the City will host its first annual Citywide Art Show at the Bayonne Community Museum located at 229 Broadway, at the corner of 9th Street. The opening reception will be on Friday, April 13, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The show will be open to viewers on weekdays, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday, April 16, through Friday, April 20, and again from Monday, April 23, through Friday, April 27, 2012. City, Board of Education, and Community Groups Plan Events at Bayonne Museum
Mayor Mark A. Smith announced that the City of Bayonne, the Bayonne Board of Education, and various community groups are working together to establish a calendar of events at the Bayonne Community Museum. Mayor Smith said, “After several years of renovations, the building is ready to host a variety of events and serve several purposes. As the owner of the building, the City of Bayonne looks forward to offering the facility to interested parties for exhibits, performances, art shows, guest speakers, contests, awards dinners, receptions, public meetings, and other special events. The building may also be available as a catering facility.†Smith continued, “The City of Bayonne will continue to work with the Bayonne Community Museum, Inc, a private, non-profit corporation, to enable it to use the building for its own exhibits and activities. In the years ahead, visitors to the building will be able to enjoy viewing museum exhibits while also enjoying various cultural events at the same time.
