Power Outage Causes Chaos On Cruise Ship

 A cruise ship that lost its power on Friday has finally made its way back to Miami after a power failure left cruisers stranded without running water and air-conditioning  in the Caribbean.

 It has been reported that some passengers became chaotic, pushing, fighting, shoving and screaming at each other when the tempetures in their cabins climbed to over 100 degrees and hundreds of people took to the deck to sleep for 2 nights

carneigehallpicture” Just Too Marvelous For Words” was how two talented youngsters from Bayonne where feeling after being two of the one hundred performers from sixteen states to join Camp Broadway in A Johnny Mercer Centennial Concert on Friday Nov 20 at Carnegie Hall. 

 Taylor Purzycki, Horace Mann and Marc Wright, School 14 students have had the chance to personally experience and perform Johnny Mercer’s music this week at Carnegie Hall. The Mercer concert is the latest event celebrating the late, great lyricist and composer. sharingplacedonationReverend Jessica Lambert, president of The Sharing Place food pantry and pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, was pleased to accept a $650 donation from The Provident Bank President and CEO Chris Martin, just in time for Thanksgiving. In place of their annual food drive, Provident employees opted this year to make financial contributions to the food pantry, so that needy families would have the pleasure of choosing their own holiday favorites. Bank employees purchased Provident VISA gift cards for the food pantry to hand out to those in need, enabling pantry patrons to follow their individual family traditions. Volunteers Needed for Casa -Helping Children

Are you interested in helping children in the foster care system?  If so, Hudson County CASA is currently recruiting volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.  CASA works through trained community volunteers to insure that needed services and assistance are made available to children while helping to move them toward safe and permanent homes. Mayor Healy & State Officials Announce Success of ‘Live Where You Work’ Program in Jersey City

Over $1M in Mortgage Loans Secured for Jersey City Residents

Healy, along with the New Jersey Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency Executive Director Marge Della Vecchia announce that the City’s participation in the state’s Live Where You Work program has resulted in over $1,000,000 in mortgage loans secured for those wishing to own homes in Jersey City.

New Jersey’s Live Where You Work program is a special home mortgage incentive program that provides a low-interest 30 or 40-year fixed-rate first mortgage for people who will live and work in Jersey City. The program also provides Smart Start down payment assistance in an amount equal to 5 percent of the first mortgage loan for qualified purchasers.
