“At Hudson County Community College, we recognize that student success begins with access, which is why our North Hudson Campus is proud to offer 19 degree and certificate programs in flexible learning modalities. The various modalities enable students to earn a quality education while balancing the demands of family, employment, and other responsibilities, said HCCC Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Darryl Jones.”
The North Hudson Campus serves more than 2,200 students who benefit from the complete campus experience. The 92,250 square-foot, seven-story North Hudson Campus at 4800 John F. Kennedy Boulevard opened in September of 2011. Its glass-enclosed Pedestrian Bridge spans bus lanes and connects to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail for maximum commuter accessibility and safety. There are computer, language, and science labs; a media center, library, and bookstore; an art concourse, gallery, and studios; mental health counseling and wellness programs; continuing education classes; courtyards and rooftop terrace; and more.
“We have made certain that the students attending our North Hudson Campus enjoy a rich student life,” said HCCC Interim President Dr. Lisa Dougherty. “In addition to our Career & Transfer Fairs, there is a vast array of clubs and social groups, gatherings celebrating holidays and historic events, community involvement/improvement groups, festivals and much more. We are committed to ensuring that students at the North Hudson Campus have access to the same student services as they would at the Journal Square Campus, including Mental Health Counseling and Wellness, Student Activities, a café, Basic Needs Support, a Food Pantry, and a full array of Enrollment Services.”
Lower tuition and generous aid packages make HCCC one of the most affordable colleges in New Jersey. Up to 83% of full-time HCCC students receive financial assistance. The HCCC Foundation provided more than $300,000 in scholarships last year.
