Students will be guided through the nerve-wracking job application and interview processes. Topics include searching for job openings, writing resumes and cover letters, submitting applications, following up with potential employers, and preparing for the interview process. The class will end with a mock interview to allow students to practice all of their new skills.
Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA) will have Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day in Bayonne on Sunday, May 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Stephen R. Gregg-Bayonne County Park. The event will take place in Lot #1 on the lower level of the park, down the road and then down the hill from the 48th Street entrance of the park on Kennedy Boulevard. Please note that the program has a new location this year. In previous years, the Bayonne event took place in downtown Bayonne. It has moved uptown to the county park.
Mayor Davis said, “I would like to thank the HCIA for having this event in Bayonne each year. I urge our residents to take advantage of this important and useful service provided by the HCIA.â€

Renovations Guided by Partnership with Parks Coalition and Local RNA Community Group
JERSEY CITY – Mayor Steven M. Fulop and the Municipal Council join the Riverview Neighborhood Association (RNA) to announce the full reopening of Riverview-Fisk Park following $2.1 million in much-needed upgrades for the complete renovation of the neighborhood park. Working with the local community to best meet residents’ needs, the improvements include a modernized infrastructure, restoration of historic elements, tree canopy preservation and expansion, and additional recreation features for kids of all ages to enjoy the outdoors.

JERSEY CITY – Mayor Steven M. Fulop joins the Municipal Council, the Jersey City Parks Coalition, the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance, and Boy Scouts Troop 466 to break ground on critical renovations to the historic Reservoir 3 with greater public access for all Jersey City residents and visitors. Originally built in the 1870s, the City has committed $6 million to preserve the historic pumphouse and fully fund renovations for complete public access to the 14-acre site.

Stemming from the City’s Successful Mobile Showers Initiative, Jersey City Expands beyond Traditional Homeless Shelter to Address Complex Population Health Problems
JERSEY CITY – Mayor Steven M. Fulop joins the Jersey City Housing Authority (JCHA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to announce the expansion of Jersey City’s homeless resident outreach efforts with a $2 million commitment to provide more permanent solutions for people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. The City is significantly enhancing health and social services utilizing our community partner and operator of Jersey City’s drop-in site, Garden State Community Development Corporation (GSCDC).
 HCCC students will have access to a one-stop, comprehensive array of services, goods and resources that address needs beyond the classroom.
On Thursday, April 15, 2021 Hudson County Community College (HCCC) will further strengthen its culture of care with the opening of the new “Hudson Helps†Resource Center. The College will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Resource Center, which is located on the third floor of 70 Sip Avenue, on the College’s Journal Square Campus in Jersey City.
“We are determined to remove the barriers that prevent our students from succeeding in their studies and completing their degree and certificate work,†said Dr. Chris Reber. “This Resource Center provides a complete array of services and resources to address students’ myriad of needs, and ensure their academic success.â€
On Friday, April 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., the Bayonne Public Library will present an autism summit with Dr. Kerry Magro, a best-selling author, public speaker, and autism self-advocate. The program will include several panel discussions available online via Zoom. There will be presentations for educators, therapists, and parents. Discussion topics will include such items as helping people with autism across the lifespan; neurodiversity; preventing bullying; building connections; self-advocacy and advocacy for society.
