Atlantic Realty of Woodbridge purchasing 30 acres

(Bayonne, NJ) – Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis today announced the sale of approximately 30 acres of the former Military Ocean Terminal (“MOTBYâ€) to Atlantic Realty of Woodbridge. Atlantic Realty was designated the developer in 2006 under Mayor Doria. The plan calls for construction of 525 residential units, park space, new roads and addition to the Hudson River Walkway. The Project has long been delayed by lawsuits that were finally settled in the spring of 2015 under Mayor Davis. According to the Developer, Jack Halpern, they hope to be under construction by the fall or early spring of 2018 at the latest. THREE WEEK SCHEDULE AS OF APRIL 21, 2017
The following work is scheduled over the next three weeks:

Toll Plaza
East side (entering 14A): renovation of existing Toll Utility Building continues.
During the weekend of 04/21/17, from 9:00PM Friday through 1:00PM Saturday, asphalt paving construction work will be performed in Toll Lanes 3 & 4 after traffic passes through the Toll Plaza heading towards the Hudson County Extension. Traffic will be split before the Toll Plaza and motorists will need to choose to stay right for the eastbound extension (JC/NYC) or to the left for the westbound extension (Newark) before passing through the Toll Plaza. Once traffic passes through the Toll Plaza, motorists will not be able to switch lanes. A VMS sign will be placed at Toll Lanes 3 & 4 to direct traffic left and right. Work will be supported by Bayonne and State Police.

Mayor Davis’ upcoming Earth Day Event Saturday, April 22nd from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.
This community event combines a citywide clean-up and fun celebration for all to enjoy. Over FORTY teams have signed up for the citywide clean-up.
The Celebration, which will occur at 16th Street Park, off Avenue A will include hot dogs, ice cream, refreshments, a blow-up slide, and a band for all to enjoy.
Also several organizations have agreed to host a table to offer environmental educational material and giveaways.

At-Large Councilman Daniel Rivera and Ward F Councilman Jermaine Robinson are introducing an ordinance at next week’s council meeting that will ensure Jersey City residents are given first priority with regard to the several hundred units of new affordable housing coming online.
The Affordable Housing Compliance Ordinance, which will be up for a first reading vote next Wednesday, establishes the city’s first ever policy for how affordable housing should be marketed, establishes a priority for Jersey City residents and creates a waitlist process, as well as annual monitoring mechanism.
