JERSEY CITY – Mayor Steven M. Fulop announced today that Jersey City was ranked as one of the top ten cities for singles by Rent.com and as reported in Huffington Post.  Jersey City was ranked ninth in a list of the largest and most notable American cities.

“Once again Jersey City is emerging as a top city to live, work and have an active and fulfilling life,” said Mayor Fulop.  “We have one of the most diverse communities in the country, a thriving arts, culture and entertainment scene, dozens of acclaimed restaurants and a variety of recreational activities.”

“To be ranked alongside places like Manhattan, Boston, and San Francisco speaks volumes about the vibrancy of Jersey City and the quality of life here,” added Mayor Fulop.

Other cities that made the list include Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Portland, Ore.

According to the Huffington Post article, Rent.com collected and analyzed data such as the percentage of single men and women aged 20 or over, as well as the availability of nightlife, public safety and the likelihood of people to participating in social activities like concerts and events.  The full article can be read here: www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/06/cities-single_n_5461087.html?utm_hp_ref=tw.
