Jersey City: Mayor Healy Announces Two-Hour Free Parking in Municipal Lots for Holiday Shopping

 JERSEY CITY– Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and the Jersey City Parking Authority announce that there will be FREE parking for two-hours in the municipal lots within the five Special Improvement Districts from Saturday, December 1, 2012 through Wednesday, January 2, 2013 to encourage local shopping this holiday season.

“This holiday season we want to encourage our residents to support our small businesses throughout the City,” said

 Mayor Healy. “Two hours of free parking will certainly help residents get to their favorite local shop and discover everything Jersey City has to offer. Everyone should take this opportunity to buy local and support their neighborhood small businesses.”

The five Special Improvement Districts are: Historic Downtown SID, Central Avenue SID, McGinley Square SID, Journal Square SID, and Jackson Hill Main Street SID.

The City will also be suspending street sweeping regulations from

 Monday, December 24, 2012 through Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
