“Hudson County has always been home to extraordinary talent, and this year’s Hall of Fame class is a testament to the determination, resilience and passion that define our communities,” said Hudson County Executive Craig Guy. “These athletes have not only made history in their respective sports but have inspired generations of young people to dream bigger and work harder. As we celebrate their accomplishments, we are also reaffirming our commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation of Hudson County champions. Through initiatives like our Sports in Education Program, we are making sure that we continue to invest in the young people who will carry them forward.”
Among the evening’s highlights was a special meeting between two generations of Hudson County Little League champions. Members of the 1966 West New York American Little League team, inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame, came face-to-face with players from the 2026 Bayonne Little League Bees, who proudly represented their hometown and Hudson County at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this summer.
Six decades apart, both teams captured the hearts of their communities and brought national recognition to their hometowns. Their meeting was a powerful reminder that the dreams of yesterday’s young athletes continue to inspire the champions of tomorrow.
The ceremony also shined a spotlight on the women and athletes of color whose accomplishments helped redefine what is possible in their respective sports. Their achievements reflect Hudson County’s diversity and the generations of athletes who have overcome obstacles, broken barriers, and opened doors for those who followed.
2026 Bayonne Little League Bees, continues to preserve and celebrate the stories of athletes, coaches, and contributors who have brought pride to their communities. With the induction of the Class of 2026, Hudson County adds another chapter to its rich sporting history while ensuring that the accomplishments of its hometown heroes continue to inspire generations to come.
