The star of the TV dramas â€˜Revolutionâ€™ and â€˜Breaking Badâ€™ will speak at the College on Thursday evening, November 13th.
The acclaimed actor, producer and director, Giancarlo Esposito will speak at Hudson County Community College this Thursday evening, November 13th. The event will be held at 6 p.m. in the Scott Ring Room of the Collegeâ€™s Culinary Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City â€“ just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Transportation Center.
The event is open to the entire Hudson County Community and there is no charge for admission.
Mr. Esposito is currently starring in the NBC hit drama, â€œRevolution,â€ where he plays Major Tom Neville. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Gus Fring on â€œBreaking Bad.â€ His portrayal of that character won him a 2012 Critics Choice Award as well as a 2012 Emmy nomination. Mr. Esposito also appeared on â€œCommunity,â€ â€œOnce Upon a Time,â€ â€œHomicide: Life on the Streets,â€ Law and Order,â€ to name a just a few of the television programs on his resume
Mr. Espositoâ€™s film role credits include parts in â€œRabbit Hole,â€ â€œThe Usual Suspects,â€ â€œAlex Cross,â€ â€œSherry Baby,â€ â€œWaiting to Exhale,â€ and â€œFresh,â€ which earned him a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.
He also has significant theater experience and won Obie awards for his work in â€œZooman and the Sign,â€ and â€œDistant Fires.â€ Broadway theatergoers will also remember him being in Debbie Allenâ€™s rendition of â€œCat on a Hot Tim Roof,â€ which also featured James Earl Jones, Terrence Howard and Phylicia Rashad. Among his other Broadway credits are â€œSacrilege,â€ â€œSeesaw,â€ â€œMerrily We Roll Along,â€ and â€œLost in the Stars.â€
Quiet Hand Productions, Mr. Espositoâ€™s production company, aspires to make â€œconscious contentâ€ films that focus on the inspirational. He made his directorial debut with the companyâ€™s film, â€œGospel Hill,â€ and has several projects currently in development.
Mr. Esposito is a member of the board of the arts and advocacy group Creative Coalition, and he lends his support to the Waterkeeper Alliance, and to Kids for Peace & World Merit USA.
