Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that Suburban Disposal, Bayonne’s carting contractor, will come to Bayonne beginning at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, for regular garbage pick-ups and to pick up any recycling that was missed on Thursday.
The areas that were scheduled for recycling pick-ups on Thursday are from 1st Street to 30th Street, including Prospect Avenue, Avenue F, and Harbor Pointe (formerly The Alexan). Anyone in those areas whose recycling was not picked up on Thursday should leave it out for pick-up on Friday.
Regular garbage pick-ups take place Fridays on every street except Broadway. Anyone whose garbage is scheduled for Friday pick-ups should set it out on Thursday night.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area for heavy snow from midnight tonight until 6pm on Thursday. Current forecasts call for 6 to 10 inches of snow. The City will be applying liquid salt brine today in preparation for snow. Garbage pickup remains on schedule.
JERSEY CITY – Mayor Steven M. Fulop and the Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, are preparing for a significant winter storm February 9th, 2017 that may bring up to a foot of snow to the area with an aggressive snow removal plan, with 64 crews deploying in the overnight and throughout the duration of the storm.

The presentation is at Pershing Field Community Center, 201 Central Avenue, Jersey City 07307. 
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will hold the second public meeting on the proposed $32.2 billion 2017-2026 Capital Plan on Tuesday, February 7th from 5pm to 8pm at the 2 Montgomery Street in Jersey City. Members of the public may attend to provide their comments on the plan.
