Julian Irizarry Wins Best Video at Golden Door International Film Festival 2018

Julian Irizarry, (J..I. Hudson) is a Harlem based rap and hip hop musician originally from Bayonne, NJ.

His music video, NEVER GETS OLD was nominated for best video at this year’s Golden Door International Film Festival in Jersey City

He is a senior at The City College of NY (CUNY) studying Graphic Design where he also played Division 3 baseball as a right hand pitcher. Julian is graduate of Bayonne High School.

He recently toured, Connecticut, Long Island and Boston with shows in several venues.

Hudson County Community College Selected for NJ Tuition-free Pilot Program

 
September 27, 2018, Jersey City, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced today that Hudson County Community College has been named one of thirteen New Jersey community colleges to pilot the New Jersey Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) in Spring 2019.

Food Drive in Bayonne Schools and BCB Bank Branches for Make A Difference Day

  Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the Bayonne Board of Education, participating religious schools, and BCB Community Bank are conducting a food drive from Tuesday, October 2, through Tuesday, October 23.  As in past years, the Bayonne Police Department is coordinating the food drive with the schools, BCB, and the Bayonne Department of Public Works.

Bayonne police officers will be assisting with the pick-up and distribution of food donations. The drive is part of the annual, national Make A Difference Day activities, which encourage volunteerism across America.  National Make A Difference Day this year is Saturday, October 27. Jersey City Transforms Parking Spots into Parklets in Citywide Pilot Program to Enhance the Pedestrian Experience

JERSEY CITY – Mayor Steven M. Fulop announces five “parklets” being installed around the City in an effort to create more public space and enhance the pedestrian experience. The five parklets are mini-parks which will temporarily turn a standard parking space into a place for the public to enjoy with seating, landscaping, lighting, art and more.

“This initiative aims to create an efficient use of space for our community, allowing our pedestrians to take advantage of the green space by relaxing and socializing near businesses, restaurants, and transportation hubs,” said Mayor Fulop. “Through Vision Zero, we are one step closer to reimagining our streets for all of its users, reducing traffic fatalities on our streets, and will use the feedback from this pilot program to determine if the program will be expanded.”

The five new parklets are open to the public with locations at: 280 Grove Street, 271 Ocean Avenue, 360 Communipaw Avenue, 38 Congress Street and 193 Mallory Avenue. Following national safety guidelines and best practices, the parklets include the proper barriers and protection from parked cars and adjacent travel lanes. Golden Door Film Fest 2018 Opening Night

One of the largest crowds to date, over 500 people consisting of Directors, Producers, Actors, Politicans and film buffs filled the Jersey City Landmark Loew’s Theater on Thursday night, September 20th.

Hudson County Senator Bob Menendez spoke to the audience about the GDIFF’s contribution to helping young artist, Menendez said, ” he was thrilled to be at the 8th Annual GDIFF as a member of the Congressional Arts Caucus, the arts bring out humanity in full force at a time when we can use some humanity.” He also spoke about Bill and Michelle Sorvino, Bill as Founder of GDIFF and Michelle Executive Director and their committment in using GDIFF to futhering the cause to educate the public on Autism.

Vintage cars gleaming in the sun with souped up engines and classic interiors dating back to America’s love affair with the automobile.

On Sunday, September 16th, Bayonne residents and Hudson County Classic Car enthusiasts took a walk through history at the Bayonne Classic Car Show.
