Jersey City Mayor-elect James Solomon announced the first member of his senior leadership team today: Laura Bustamante will serve as his Chief of Staff.
Bustamante has deep roots in Jersey City, having previously served as Solomon’s chief of Staff during his time on the City Council. She was also the Political Director and Deputy State Director, covering North Jersey, for U.S. Senator Andy Kim.

HOBOKEN – CarePoint Health and Hoboken University Medical Center are partnering with Hudson Pride Center to host the “Every Woman Wellness Event†– a healthy living event for lesbian, bisexual, cis and trans women.

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) will hold a Spring 2017 Job Fair on Wednesday, April 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the College’s North Hudson Campus – 4800 Kennedy Boulevard in Union City. The HCCC North Hudson Campus is adjacent to the Bergenline Avenue Transit Station. There will be part-time and full-time positions offered. Job hunters are recommended to dress for a business interview and to bring five to 10 copies of their résumés to the event.
The companies represented at the event include nearly every sector of business, including health care, banking/financial services, insurance, education, logistics, computer programming, retail sales, STEM, social services, technology, government, pool maintenance, real estate, U.S. armed forces, and more.

JERSEY CITY – The Hudson Pride Connections Center will be presenting â€MAN/kind†in partnership with local mixed media artist and curator Ricardo Osmondo Francis from July 18, 2012 through August 31, 2012. “MAN/kind†features the works of several male artists who explore, redefine, and challenge the standard social definitions of masculinity. Throughout the ages, individuals within society have placed a premium on masculinity; therefore making it complicated for those of the “male†sex to live up to what is typically expected of them. Artists in this exhibit include: Jermaine D. Clark (photography), David Antonio Cruz (video), Ricardo Osmondo Francis (painting), Edwin Gonzalez-Ojeda (painting), Shaun El C. Leonardo (drawing and installation), Ricardo Louis (photography), Ivan Monforte (photography), Levan Mindiashivilli (painting), Cristian Tonhaiser (photography), and Mark Vinsun (painting). These artists investigate this complex subject matter in a variety of intriguing ways while expressing what masculinity means to them individually.
