PERTAIN PROMOTED TO PROVIDENT FIRST VICE PRESIDENT

pertain_robert1JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Provident Bank has promoted Robert Pertain of Hampton Township (NJ) to first vice president and marketing director. He is responsible for the bank’s marketing department, including establishing marketing strategies, creating advertising programs and conducting customer research.

Pertain has 31 years of experience in the banking industry. He began his career at Provident in 1978

in a management training program and created the bank’s marketing department in 1980. Before his recent promotion, Pertain was vice president and marketing director.

Pertain earned a B.S. from Ramapo College in business administration and economics and a minor in marketing. He is an honors graduate of America’s Community Bankers’ National School of Banking and also graduated from its executive development program, both held at Fairfield University (CT).

Pertain is a member of the Civil War Preservation Trust, which helps fund the preservation of Civil War battlefields.

Pertain lives with his wife of 28 years, Kathleen, and their two children, Dianna (age 21) and Christopher (age 14) in Hampton Township (NJ).
