Bayonne Vaccination Volunteer Honored By City and County

Mayor Davis continued, “For Women’s History Month, the Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs sought an honoree from each municipality who has served on the front lines of service during the Coronavirus pandemic.  Thanks to Emilia’s efforts, numerous Bayonne residents will be protected from the virus.”

The honoree is a long-time Bayonne resident who has been a nurse for more than thirty years.  Originally from the Philippines, Emilia Cruz has been at Bayonne Medical Center for over twenty years.  She spent many years in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and serves currently as a Recovery Nurse at Bayonne Medical Center.  Nurse Emilia is a single mother of three children.  She is known for helping her fellow nurses and mentoring younger colleagues.

Ms. Cruz will be featured in a video with other honorees from around Hudson County.
