Update from Mayor Bhalla on COVID-19 (5/14), open streets pilot to continue on Adams Street this weekend

Among the 386 respondents who indicated they live on Jefferson Street, 80% support open streets to continue on Jefferson Street or another street during the COVID-19 pandemic, and 66% support open streets after the pandemic.

Based on the positive responses, responsible usage, and popularity of the program, we’ll be looking for ways to expand open streets in the weeks and months to come.

Quick note on COVID-19 test and antibody test

If you currently have symptoms of COVID-19 and have not yet gotten a COVID-19 test, our Health Department recommends you sign up for a COVID-19 test, as opposed to an antibody test, through your primary care physician or Riverside Medical. As a reminder, you can book a COVID-19 test through Riverside by calling the Community Emergency Response Team at City Hall at 201-420-5621, Monday through Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm. You can also receive a COVID-19 if you do not have symptoms. You can learn more about our antibody testing that begins next week by clicking here.
