Global Harvest Fellowship hosts Easter Sunday Mass

You are invited to a joyful, hope-filled Easter Service at 16th Street Park, Bayonne, on Sunday, April 20, at 10:30 AM!

Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together, with uplifting worship music, a vibrant and welcoming community, and an encouraging message of hope that will speak to every heart. It will be a morning of joy, connection, and celebration for all ages!

Whether you’re exploring faith, returning to church, or simply looking for an Easter service to attend, come as you are! We want to welcome you!

Chairs will be set up, but feel free to bring lawn chairs or blankets. There will be space for kids to move around, the backdrop for photos, and coffee and light refreshments.

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that Bayonne resident Award Winning Actress Tammy Blanchard: Tallulah,  Into the Woods, The Good Shepherd, Rabbit Hole and many other screen  stage and television  roles will be on hand for the Benefit Concert to sign autographs, appear on stage  and lend a hand to support Bayonne  in helping Baytown Texas.

Also  American Idol star Jackie Nese and her dancers will be performing and signing autographs at the Bayonne to Baytown benefit concert on Friday, September 22. Jackie is a rising star who ignites the passion in her young hip audiences with every performance. Along with Nashville star Joe Bayer, The Blue Dawg Band, Rocco and the Mob, and various other performers, she will rock the house.

Please support the flood victims by attending the concert and making a free will offering, buy a t-shirt, eat a hot dog … all proceeds to go to Baytown, Texas flood victims

The concert will take place at DiDomenico-16th Street Park on Friday, September 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The park is located in Bayonne between Avenue A and Newark Bay on the western side of the city.  The concert location is an amphitheater on the lower level of the park. Audience members are invited to bring their own chairs, because provided seating is limited.

The Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF), Bayonne’s community action organization, will accept donations of any size in lieu of a set admission fee.  Checks should be made payable to the BEOF with “Baytown” written in the memo portion of the check.  Donations can also be made online at beof.org.  To make online donations on the BEOF website, please follow the logo for Hurricane Harvey donations and click on it.  That will bring you to the donation page. The BEOF will act as the recipient of tax-deductible donations to assist the people of Baytown. The BEOF will disburse funds to Baytown following the concert. Admission to the concert will be based on a free-will offering. No donation will be considered too large or too small. At the concert, there will be a table set up to accept electronic donations.  Cash donations will also be accepted, but checks and electronic donations are preferred for reasons of security and tax-deductibility.

             To inquire about sponsorships, please contact Recreation Supervisor Pete Amadeo at 201-858-6129. Local vendors who are willing to donate their profits to the BEOF for the Bayonne to Baytown project should contact Mr. Amadeo to apply to participate in the September 22 event.

]]>   The City of Bayonne and Bayonne Department of Recreation will Running hold its 1st Annual “Bayonne 5K” and “Mayors Mile” on Saturday May 6, 2015 starting at 8:00 AM at the 16th Street Park in Bayonne, NJ.  There will also be a 1 mile “Fun Run” that participants are encouraged to participate in as well.  Participants of all ages and running levels are encouraged to come out and run (or walk!) Over 200 participants are expected.

According to Pete Amadeo, Supervisor of Recreation for the City of Bayonne, “The inaugural Bayonne 5K and Mayor’s Mile is an initiative of the City of Bayonne and the Division of Recreation to promote active and healthy lifestyles for all of Bayonne’s residents.  We are totally on board with the First Lady’s “Let’s Move!” physical fitness and wellness campaign and wanted to bring it down to the local grassroots level.  Encouraging our children to run is a fun, low cost and self-rewarding way to create youth involvement in physical activities, a hobby that can and will last a lifetime!  Proceeds from the races will support the Bayonne Division of Recreation Youth Programs.  I encourage the entire town and all of our friends from everywhere to come out run with us!  Let’s make this our first annual citywide 5K and Mayors Mile program where our entire community comes out and supports each other!”

The Bayonne 5K and Mayors Mile events are open to all runners in the following categories: Male Overall – all ages; Women Overall – all ages; 19 and under; 20-24; 25-29;30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60 and over.  All participants will receive a race t-shirt, and top five finishers in each of the male and female overall category, and the top 3 finishers in each age segment will receive medals.  Times for the races are: Bayonne 5K – 8:00AM; Mayors Mile – 9:00 AM; Fun Run – 9:30AM.

Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis is the honorary starter for all the day’s races.  “Saturday June 6th is going to be a great day of racing for all of our residents and friends.  It’s non-pressured and fun.  Runners will be competing against all other runners, but most importantly themselves as we expect an awful lot of personal records to be shattered!  We are hoping for a beautiful spring day, but will run rain or shine. It’s our first great running party!”  On that note, there will be loads of fun activities and prizes and there will be live music and a DJ on hand. And as an added bonus, Pro-Triathelete Dan Feeney will be doing a talk and Q&A at packet pick up (4:00-8:00PM) at NJ Running Co in Hoboken, and then running all the races in Bayonne on Saturday. He also will run with the kids in the Fun Run.  He will lead the warm up and cool down for the athletes and continue with a Q&A/meet & greet & autograph session after the race.

 Runners should pre-register for the races at www.Bayonne5K.com.   The fee is $25.00 per runner for the 5K, $20.00 per runner for the Mayors Mile, or you can register for both for only $30.00 (the “Double Down!”  The Kids Fun Run is Free!!  And if you sign up to volunteer for the race, you run for free.  Email Bayonne5K@gmail.com for details.

Registration is open online until Saturday June 6th at 6:00AM and all runners are encouraged to register on line.  Runners may register for the races at the race site on the morning of the race beginning at 7:00AM but there will be no multi-race discounts.
