BETHPAGE, N.Y., January 26, 2010 — On Monday, February 1^st, MSG Varsity will kick-off three days of special programming devoted to football signing day – the day when high school players sign their letters of intent for college. 

 Coverage begins Monday, February 1^st with High School SportsDesk’s Shawna Ryan as she examines the phenomenon known as football signing day.  On February 2^nd, High School SportsDesk will host former Rutgers assistant football recruiter Drew Robinson. Robinson will take an in-depth look at the top players in the Tri-State area – including:

• Reuben Frank (Poughkeepsie High School)
• Jeremiah Kobena (Cardinal Hayes High School)

 On Wednesday, February 3^rd– MSG Varsity will have wall-to-wall signing day coverage on msgvarsity.com, High School SportsDesk and A Quick: 60. 

 Msgvarsity.com will feature a live, running news story on its home page, providing fans with up-to-the-minute news as well as feature stories and a complete list of all the signees.  MSG Varsity high school sports authorities including Kevin Devaney, Mike Quick and Gregg Sarra will also report on msgvarsity.com throughout the day.  

Wednesday evening, High School SportsDesk’s coverage concludes with the entire one-hour show dedicated to signing day. The show will cover press conferences and interviews with players and feature in studio guests – including College Football Hall of Famer Don McPherson, MSG Varsity’s Mike Quick and Drew Robinson.  Doug Marron, head coach of Syracuse University will also be interviewed, as several top local recruits are in talks to sign with Syracuse.  High School SportsDesk airs weeknights at 7 pm and 10 pm on Cablevision’s iO TV (Channel 14). 

 MSG Varsity’s week of coverage ends with Mike Quick as he hosts Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano and Houston Texans outside linebacker and 2010 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Brian Cushing on his live call-in show A Quick: 60. Cushing, a former high school standout for the Bergen Catholic Crusaders (New Jersey) will share his signing day experience. A Quick: 60 airs Wednesday evenings at 8 pm on Cablevision’s iO TV (Channel 14).
