Students at Bayonne High School recently participated in a Cablevision Power to Learn Black History Month event that explored the legacy of the Greensboro Four. Participating in the event, which was presented in conjunction with the Smithsonian Channel, was original Greensboro Four member Joseph McNeil who spoke with students about the civil rights movement, along with Assemblyman Charles Mainor, Assemblyman Jason Oâ€Donnell and Mayor Mark Smith.  Students at Bayonne High School will receive a history lesson firsthand from Joseph McNeil, an original member of the “Greensboro Four” and an icon of the civil rights movement. As part of the Black History Month educational initiative from Cablevisionâ€s Power to Learn and the Smithsonian Channel, junior honors students will make presentations and elected officials will also participate.
