JERSEY CITY, N.J. / October 18, 2011 — Hudson County Community College Vice President for Development Joseph D. Sansone announced that the College has scheduled the Fourth Annual Hudson County Community College 2011 Alumni Celebration for 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening, November 7. The event will be held in the Collegeâ€s Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center at 161 Newkirk Street — just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Station in Jersey City. The $50 donation includes cocktails and dinner.

Hudson County Community College to Host Information Sessions for Prospective Students  Evening and weekend sessions scheduled for November and December 

JERSEY CITY, N.J. / October 18, 2011 — Hudson County Community College will assist prospective students in becoming better acquainted with the College and its offerings through a series of Information Sessions in November and December. The sessions are designed to provide opportunities to learn about the Collegeâ€s academic programs, the admissions process, financial aid, extracurricular activities and the
Collegeâ€s services and resources for students.

Five of the six sessions, which will focus on specific areas of study, are scheduled to take place at the Collegeâ€s Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street — just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Station in Jersey City. They are:

HCCC President Dr. Glen Gabert explained that the focused sessions were developed to provide individuals thinking of studying at the College with an opportunity to take a good look at areas that are of particular
interest to them. “Members of our faculty and staff will be on-hand to acquaint attendees with the course offerings and degree and certificate programs in each of these areas, as well as the financial aid and student support services we provide,” Dr. Gabert said.

Another session will be held at the Collegeâ€s new North Hudson Higher Education Center at 4800 Kennedy Boulevard in Union City on Thursday, November 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The newly opened campus is adjacent to the Bergenline Light Rail Transit Center and connected to that transit hub via a bridge to the North Hudson Centerâ€s third floor. The North Hudson session will give prospective students the chance to see the “complete campus under one roof,” which includes: the Enrollment Center (Bursarâ€s, Financial Assistance, Testing & Assessment, Academic Advisement and Tutorial Services offices); bookstore; Community Education (non-credit) office; Student Lounge/Cyber Café; Fitness Room; language labs; general classrooms with SmartBoards; Art Studio, Film & Music Studies Room, and Biology and Chemistry labs. The North Hudson session will be led by members of the Collegeâ€s faculty and staff from the Financial Aid and Equal Opportunity Fund (EOF) departments, who will provide attendees with an overview of the programs, courses and services at the College and at that campus.

HCCC Board of Trustees Chair William J. Netchert, Esq.
said: “We encourage prospective students and their families to attend these Information Sessions and see for themselves all the great things that Hudson County Community College has to offer them.” Mr. Netchert stated that the College is student-centered and has a team of faculty, counselors, and staff who are expert at helping students obtain the financial and other resources they need to succeed.
