The 5th Street Connector between Route 440 and Ingham Avenue in Bayonne is expected to be closed to traffic until approximately the last week of November 2012. Road closure will be in effect between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Signs will be posted announcing the route of the detour to Avenue A. Any changes in the particulars of the road closing will be announced. Accommodations will be made for any required access to properties within the work zone. The U-turn at Route 440 and 5th Street will remain open. The road closing is due to the construction of the Spectra natural gas pipeline. Henkels and McCoy, a building contractor, is carrying out the work. The company regrets any inconvenience that the work may cause.
