JERSEY CITY -A BIT OF NOSTALGIA COMES TO THE NEW WATERFRONT DISTRICT WITH NEW V’s BARBERSHOP

Business Views-River View Observer

V Barber shop Jersey CityJERSEY CITY, NJ (April 8, 2013) –Coming this May, a new barbershop will bring back the nostalgia of a time long since passed. V’s Barbershop will be opening at 389 Washington Boulevard, its second location in Hudson County and 21st in the country. At V’s Barbershop, a haircut is a ritual, a nostalgic experience harkening back to a simpler day when men gathered at the corner barbershop to discuss everything from business, to sports and current events. V’s barbers provide both traditional, short haircuts, as well as contemporary and trendy styles. Every haircut will include a hot lather neck shave and will always end with a relaxing shoulder massage. As you get your hair cut, sit back in one of the authentic refurbished 1950’s-era Koken barber chairs while enjoying your favorite game on your own flat screen TV.

Owners Dan Vassallo and Frank Ferlito, both old friends, fraternity brothers and Jersey City residents, hope the shop will serve as a gathering place for regulars and neighbors to talk sports and other things, and also a place where fathers can bond with their sons. J Banta Lewis astralcommunications@aol.com

Exclusively prepared for the River View Observer on a monthly basis by J Banta Lewis

Aries-  March 21-April 19th

In the time of Aries the astral advice suggests that every effort be made to avoid becoming the poster boy/girl for an April fool!!Your temper and your point of view are at odds and the strong vocal cords you possess can get you into trouble. Silence is truly golden. Await more information before you ignite a whirlwind of controversy with your pointed remarks.

Taurus _April 20 – May 20

You have always felt yourself to be a fair minded person but have you given yourself the same consideration you’ve offered to others? Look in the mirror and assess your worth. Although not perfect, you are many times better than the myth rumor mongers have created. All love begins with self-love.

Gemini May 21 – June 20

Times a wasting!! Jupiter still hovers in the area of the heavens where Gemini resides. Create the life you desire. Your luck factor is at its zenith but you must recognize your power in order to put it to use. Gemini goals may simply include some extra educational courses but mind power and communications are highlighted. Follow your bliss. Those projects begun now may lead to a life of success.

CancerJune 21 – July 22

No one could realize the emotional pain that on occasion the Cancer native suffers. The astral advice suggests that instead of holding hurt you sublimate this energy and use it to create a happy time. Repression builds resentment and not unlike a boiling kettle has a tendency to explode. A gradual release allows for a new improved Cancer native to emerge. Light and love! GRANVILLE, OH (04/01/2013)(readMedia)– Autumn Stiles of Jersey City (07304) performed the role of a chorus member in “Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God,” which was presented over seven nights at Denison University’s Black Box Theatre.

The play reveals an epic story of remarkable love, incredible heists, an extraordinary dying wish and communities that know pride and keep faith. Award-winning Canadian playwright Djanet Sears has set this moving, poetic, and ultimately life-affirming drama in present-day Negro Creek, a 200-year-old black community in Western Ontario. Supporting the action of the play is a “chorus of souls,” ancestral beings who provide a window into African tradition and beliefs.
