“Laisser le Bon Rouleau de Temps,” the French phrase, “Let the Good Times Roll,” often heard down in New Orleans the week before Lent, will be a welcome phrase up here too, as the Jersey City Free Public Library Foundation, Inc. holds its annual September fundraiser with a Mardi Gras theme. Last year’s crowd-pleasing theme, Hawaiian-style, brings with it the expectation for this year,

in having a successful Mardi Gras.

The Board of Trustees of the Jersey City Free Public Library Foundation, Inc. – Kevin J. Ward, Chairman; Morris Winograd, Vice Chairman; Michael Ryan, Treasurer; Elizabeth Spinelli, Recording Secretary; Joseph Panepinto Jr., Corresponding Secretary; Joseph A. Turula; Margaret Crimmins; Kathleen Hartye; Samantha Newman-Webster; Robert Burke; and Priscilla Gardner, Executive Director – invite the public to enjoy Mardi Gras.
For the fourth straight year, P.J. Ryan’s,

172 First Street in Jersey City, hosts the Library Foundation fundraiser, on Thursday evening, September 11, at 5 p.m., with beer, wine, hot dogs and hamburgers included in the nominal price of $20 per ticket. Two live bands keep the place jumping!

Tickets can be purchased from Library Foundation Board members, or from Foundation Executive Director Priscilla Gardner, (201) 547-4508. Please make checks payable to, Jersey City Free Public Library Foundation, Inc., and send to,

 Executive Director Priscilla Gardner,
