The City of Jersey City Presents Two New Exhibits Featuring:Gaia Studio and the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance

Opening Tuesday, November 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

JERSEY CITY

–JERSEY CITY SEAL LOGO Mayor Steven M. Fulop and the City of Jersey City are pleased to announce the opening of two new art exhibits at the City Hall Rotunda Art Gallery, 280 Grove Street. The exhibits will feature artwork from Gaia Studio and the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance, on the second and third floors of City Hall throughout the month of November.

“Jersey City has one of the most vibrant arts communities in Jersey City and we are always pleased to showcase the work of our local artists,” said Mayor Fulop. “The art work on display is a direct reflection of the talented art community that works and lives in our great City.”

The third floor of City Hall will feature an exhibit by the Gaia Studio of Jersey City. This exhibit, entitled, a nd that is why I hate love letters…” , curated by Doris Cacoilo and Lillian Ribeiro, will feature artist: Gigi Chen, Marcy Chevali, Christine Da Cruz, Sharon De La Cruz, Elizabeth Harney, Kathleen Kranack, Maude Lemaire, Julie Mchargue, Laura Daziano Miller, Katie Shima, Leona Strassberg Steiner and Kit Vogelsang.

The second floor of City Hall will feature an exhibit by the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance, who will present its first art exhibit. This exhibit, entitled, “ Through an Open Gate: Jersey City Reservoir #  is curated by photographer and photojournalist, Trix Rosen. The artwork displayed represents the vision of seven teenage photographers of the INSIGHT OUT! Digital Photography Workshop in Jersey City and their experience with Reservoir #3 and its entire natural splendor.

There will also be also an opening reception on Tuesday, November 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall Rotunda in Jersey City, which is FREE and open to the public. The artist reception will feature a live performance art installation, of “I hope I remember…” by Jersey City’s own Kit Vogelsang at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
