JERSEY CITY – John O. Brennan, Deputy National Security Advisor and Special Aid to the President of the United States, will tour neighborhoods destroyed by Hurricane Sandy within the city, including the financial district know as Wall Street West, beginning 12 noon Saturday, November 3, 2012.

 Brennan, who will be accompanied by Assistant Administrator for Response from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Robert J. Fenton, will take the tour of the City and key infrastructure along with Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and officials from the city’s Office of Emergency Management. The first public leg begins at a neighborhood walloped by Hurricane Sandy, Country Village, at that community’s Little League Baseball Field.

 “Just days ago in a phone conversation I had with President Barack Obama, he guaranteed me that he would be responsive, not just to our needs but to the needs of all the communities that haven devastated during the unprecedented storm. By sending the officials who can help us get back on our feet, and in short order, he’s kept his word,” Healy said.

 

Healy received a personal phone call from President Obama during the early-morning hours Tuesday just after Hurricane Sandy landed on the city and unleashed its fury. The tour will continue to other neighborhoods, including the financial district closest to the Hudson River waterfront where various Wall Street front and back office entities flourish and drive the state’s economic engine.///
