Jersey City to Celebrate Women’s History Month With Group Art Exhibit Featuring Both Local and World Renowned Artists

JERSEY CITY – Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the Municipal Council, the Department of Health and Human Services/Division of Cultural Affairs will host an art reception on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 for the Women’s History Month Group Exhibition from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in City Hall, 280 Grove Street.

“As we celebrate the achievements of women throughout Women’s History Month, we also recognize the significant obstacles they had to overcome,” said Mayor Healy. “This exhibit showcases the extraordinary work of local women artists and we encourage everyone to take the opportunity to view this work.”

The group exhibit will feature several artists whose work represents many different disciplines, such as paintings, photography, and print making. Artists on display are:

Gallery hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
