Hoboken’s PATH Station Will Remain Closed for Now- The Only PATH Station Not In Use

While there was good news for commuters of the The World Trade Center PATH line which opened this past Monday with stops in New Jersey’s Newark, Harrison, Journal Square, Grove Street and Exchange Place and New York’s World Trade Center stations; for North Hudson residents who would normally take the PATH to New York via Hoboken the news was not so good.

According to PATH officials the Hoboken station renovations may take several more weeks due to “vital switching equipment being destroyed and not being salvaged due to Superstorm Sandy.

Crews are working around the clock to restore communications within the tunnels and replace the damaged signal equipment.

Ferry service is available for New Jersey Transit commuters  from the Hoboken Terminal. There is bus service to the terminal where commuters can  transfer to a ferry which arrives at Pier 79 at 39th street in Manhattan.

Ferries will run  between 6am  and 10 am  and 4pm and 8 pm from Monday through Friday The fare is $5.
