City Of Jersey City Working with Red Cross to Assist Victims of Belmont Avenue Fire

JERSEY CITY SEAL LOGOJersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy announced today that the Mayor’s Office and the

Mayor’s Action Bureau, as well as the Jersey City Fire Department, are working with the

Hudson County Chapter of the American Red Cross to assist the victims of last week’s fire on

Belmont Avenue that destroyed six homes.

 

To date, donations have been received from Modell’s, ShopRite Inserra Foods and the Healy

Bayonne Medical Center and Christ Hospital Schools of Nursing to Merge

BMC_photoBayonne, NJ — In an effort to improve and expand the scope of educational experience and to offer students an opportunity to earn an advanced degree in nursing, the Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing and Christ Hospital School of Nursing will merge in the fall of 2014.

Both Christ Hospital and Bayonne Medical Center’s School of Nursing have been staples of education in Hudson County since the 1890’s. Each school has a rich and varied history, with a common goal of providing a superior education and the highest quality care to patients. The faculties of both institutions are devoted to ensuring the continuation of this goal. The merging of Bayonne Medical Center and Christ Hospital’s School of Nursing will provide a wealth of opportunities to the students of both institutions — enhancing their clinical expertise through experiences not only in the hospital, but through interactions within the communities themselves. Hudson County Community College the ‘Topping Out’ of New Library & Academic Building

Area elected officials and College administrators, faculty and staff to sign topmost beam at April 2 event

hccc-logo300dpiHudson County Executive Thomas A. DeGise, members of the Hudson County Chosen Board of Freeholders, New Jersey State Senator Sandra B. Cunningham, Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, Hudson County Community College Board of Trustees Chair William J. Netchert, Esq. and other Trustees, Hudson County Community College President Glen Gabert and members of the College’s administration, faculty and staff will be in attendance for the Topping Out Ceremonies for the new Hudson County Community College Library & Academic Building, currently under construction at 71 Sip Avenue in Jersey City, NJ.

The event will begin with remarks in the lobby of the College’s Administration Building (70 Sip Avenue) on the Journal Square Campus in Jersey City and will proceed across the street to the site of the Library & Academic Building.
