FRIAR FAMILY GIVES BACK-St. Anthony’s High School in Jersey City

St. Anthony'sJersey City, NJ – December 19, 2012 – Saint Anthony High School, a small, Catholic school in Jersey City with the powerhouse basketball team, continues to foster Christian values inside and outside the classroom. While many St. Anthony High School families were affected by Hurricane Sandy – they were the first to step up, along with faculty and staff on several community outreach programs during the past two months.

Friar Food Drive: The annual Thanksgiving food drive was postponed when Hurricane Sandy closed the school for nine days, but that did not stop the students and faculty from resurrecting the Friar Food Drive in early December. Through their efforts – the students of St. Anthony High School collected over 500 pounds of non-perishable food items that will go to food banks who continue to support families who are displaced by Hurricane Sandy. 52 GRADUATES, 60 COLLEGES AND OVER $6.1 MILLION DOLLARS IN SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Jersey City, NJ – May 24, 2012 – Saint Anthony High School, a small, Catholic school in Jersey City with the powerhouse basketball team, led by legendary Coach Bob Hurley, is the school that also educates young men and women preparing them for a brighter future. But, what many people are less aware of is our record with our 18 consecutive years of 100% college acceptance and our impact on all of our students, boys and girls, athletes and scholars.

 The Saint Anthony High School Class of 2012 has achieved a level of notable success with nearly 200 acceptances to 60 colleges and universities and over $6.1 million dollars in academic and athletic scholarships awarded to more than 70% of these schools. HUDSON COUNTY CHAMBER LAUNCHES AD CAMPAIGN

Jersey City, NJ … Today the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce launched a promotional campaign designed to spur the business community into supporting fellow Hudson County based businesses.

The campaign theme is “We Make it Happen” and features six distinguished members of the association’s Board of Directors in a series of print, online and outdoor ads during a six week period. The group includes Dr. Carlos Hernandez, President, New Jersey City University; Dr. Eugene Cornacchia, President, Saint Peter’s College; Joseph F. Scott, FACHE, President and CEO, LibertyHealth; Connie Claman, Vice President Resource Administration, Liberty Science Center; Maria Nieves, Director, Public Affairs, Fidelity Investments and Helen Brzozowski, Director, Junior Prep Pre-School Center.
