With record breaking attendance the  19th Annual Newport Liberty Half Marathon on September 23 had a great turnout.
19% more runners participated  in the race for 2012 than in 2011, with 2,640 men, women and elite competitors registered. The first male runner to finish the race was Kenneth Goglas, a resident of Randolph, N.J., who came in at 1:09:11.68. The first female runner to finish the race was Cheyenne Ogletree of Garfield, N.J., who crossed the finish line at 1:21:57.41. All of the runners finished strong!
