Beginner Classes Now Forming for Spring and Summer 

Recently, (7) Unique World Hall of Fames, Organization and The “Alliance” under Grand Master Dr. Jim Thomas President recognized Austin Wright’s Dojos as the Multi-Discipline International World Championships Academies because of their Proven Seminars and Competition results.  It started with their Sensei and Father Hanshi Grand Master Dennis Austin Wright in the Mid 1950’s  at the Bayonne M.O.T.B.Y. Base Learning Jujitsu, in the 60’s with Isshin-Ryu Karate and a Kick-Boxing in the 70’s A Combined Martial Arts theory that has been proven now for (3) Generations. 

At Hanshi (Grand Master ) Austin Wright’s Karate Dojos of Combined Martial Arts MMA and Self-Defense students learn Traditional Martial Arts of Okinawan Isshin-Ryu Karate (8th Dan), Tactical Japanese Judo Jujitsu Combative Arts (9th Dan), American Kick-Boxing (PKF) and MMA Fitness for the Entire Family Ages 3 to Adult.  We offer Senior Citizen Programs, Special Needs and Women’s Programs at 250 Broadway, corner of 10th Street, Bayonne, NJ and 1683 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ.

NJ Team Wright is Victorious at the 2016 O.I.K.K.A World Karate Championship

UWA Warriors In this years O.I.K.K.A World Karate Championship once again, York Watson-Byrd dominated the Kumite Division and Won the Black Belt World Isshin Ryu Fighting Division. He placed 2nd in Forms and 2nd in Weapons. In the Advanced 2, 4th and 5th Division, Kenneth Jackson II clinched 3rd in Kumite coming back to win against several formidable opponents.

Newcomer Nicholas Brea, 16 year old White Belt took 1st in the Adult 18-40 Division, beating an Orange Belt to win the Adult Novice Division While fellow newcomer Michael Townes, yellow belt, placed 3rd in the same division and 2nd in forms.

In the female 18-34 year old Division, Brown Belt Adama Wiggan, Age 32 placed 2nd in Kumite and 2nd in Kata with an outstanding performance. Ciara Castillo won 2nd in Kumite, and Samir O’Neill also took home 2nd in Kumite.

U.S. National Martial Arts Elite Team Wright outkicked, outshouted, and outpunched their formidable opponents to take numerous 1st places in the Black, Brown, Green and Novice Divisions. The Team was led by Head Trainer, Internationally Recognized Multi-Discipline Grand Master Austin Wright Sr. This Year was an International Karate Championship because competitors came from Holland, Canada, & Algeria to name a few countries.
