19th Annual Newport Liberty Half Marathon Race Results For September 23rd, 2012

With record breaking attendance the  19th Annual Newport Liberty Half Marathon on September 23 had a great turnout.

19% more runners participated  in the race  for 2012 than in 2011, with 2,640 men, women and elite competitors registered. The first male runner to finish the race was Kenneth Goglas, a resident of Randolph, N.J., who came in at 1:09:11.68. The first female runner to finish the race was Cheyenne Ogletree of Garfield, N.J., who crossed the finish line at 1:21:57.41. All of the runners finished strong! 9th Annual Riker Danzig Newport 10,000 Race10K road race along the Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City’s Newport community

Known as the fastest course in the tri-state area, the Newport 10,000 is a 10K road race along the Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City’s Newport community.

** Proceeds will be donated to the Jersey City Medical Center, the area’s newest regional referral teaching hospital, providing the highest level of care for women and infants, and trauma and heart patients.**

More than 1,200 recreational and elite runners competing at the highest level for $14,400 in prize money
