Jersey City Offers Free Concerts and Dance this Summer

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

JERSEY CITY – Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, Municipal Council, and the Division of Cultural Affairs host the annual Summerfest Concert Series, the annual Jazz for Lunch Music Series, Free Concerts at the MLK Hub, and the Summer Dance Fest Series during the months of July through August.

“From enjoying the pier’s scenic backdrop, to Liberty State Park’s view of the Manhattan skyline, to the MLK evening celebration, mixed with the finest local musicians, this will be an exciting time to be in Jersey City,” said Mayor Healy. “Residents and visitors don’t have to spend a lot of money on vacations and travel far for a fun-filled summer. Jersey City Armory to play host to Jersey City’s own Pro team The Jersey Express

jersey-express-again The Jersey Express Professional Basketball Team, is proud to call Jersey City home! The Express will be playing its home games at the National Guard Jersey City Armory, located at 678 Montgomery Street, for the upcoming American Basketball Association (ABA) Season.

Jersey City’s own; Terry Dehere, former player for St. Anthony’s High School, Seton Hall University, and an NBA 1st round draft pick of the LA Clippers, takes over as Head Coach. Luther Wright, former Seton Hall star and 1st round draft pick of the Utah Jazz, acts as Big Man Coach. For those players looking to go overseas, or maybe even have aspirations on playing in the NBA, here’s an opportunity to play for those who have been…where you want to go! Player instruction and exposure will be at its highest.
