Jersey City to Celebrate the Annual Polish Festival

 As part of the City’s ‘Tapestry of Nations’ Ethnic Festival Series

JERSEY CITY – Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the Municipal Council and the Division of Cultural Affairs proudly announce the annual Polish Festival which will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26th 2012 on Washington Street, between Sussex and Grand streets.

“The greatness of this country, especially our city, is largely attributed to the contributions that immigrants have made and continue to make,” said Mayor Healy. “Jersey City was densely populated by Polish immigrants and their descendents, many of whom worked at the nearby Colgate Palmolive Soap Factory and other shops located in the old First Ward of Jersey City.
