Hudson County Community College to Hold Gala Fundraiser on December 6

November 29, 2012, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College Foundation will hold the largest and most festive of its annual fundraisers — the 15th Annual Holiday Gala — at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 6, 2012 at the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center ‑ 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to scholarships for deserving students, faculty development programs, and the College’s physical expansion.

Hudson County Community College Vice President for Development Joseph Sansone said that PSE&G will be the recipient of this year’s Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes organizations and individuals for their work on behalf of the College and the people of Hudson County. 58 Jersey City Restaurants, Delis and Hotels —Plus a Hospital — Are Turning Grease into Green

Food-service businesses are earning $0.10 per gallon for used cooking oil, thanks to partnership between Jersey City Economic Development Corporation, Destination Jersey City and Grease Lightning

February 16, 2011, Jersey City, NJ -Jersey City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) CEO Steve Lipski announced today that the cooking oil recycling program launched late last month is off to a great start with 58 local, food-service enterprises now participating.

The program, a partnership between the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation, Destination Jersey City and Unity Fuels’ Grease Lightning, pays participating food-service organizations 10¢ per gallon for used cooking oil. The Jersey City Medical Center, Courtyard Marriott, Hyatt Regency Jersey City, Westin Jersey City, and more than 50 area restaurants have come on board with the program. NEWPORT CULTURAL FESTIVAL JERSEY CITY-FUN UNITES ALL

The Newport Neighborhood Association (“NNA”) is excited to be hosting its fourth annual International Cultural Festival on Saturday, September 25th from noon to 7:00 pm on Town Square Place, the old Pavonia Avenue, in Jersey City’s downtown Newport community.  This location is just outside the Newport/Pavonia PATH station in Newport, across the street from the eastern entrance to the Newport Mall.  The NNA has planned an even bigger event than last year’s Festival which drew roughly 2,500 to Newport as this year’s event will have something for all ages, many cultures, and something new, including showcasing a bike show by Grove Street Bicycles, several new performers and legos for kids.
