FRAGMENTED IDENTITY, 389 Washington, St, JC. Opening Reception Fri, June 8, 7-9 pm. (The show runs through July.) Solo show by Theda Sandiford, a self-taught installation and mixed-media artist based in Jersey City. “Theda began exploring her artistry by transforming collected materials into mixed-media works, photographing her process and then digitally manipulating these images to extend the narrative as part of her personal mythology.”

The International Sculpture Center presents an exhibition of artists in ISCs residency program at Mana Contemporary. Seven Works of Art Unveiled

Unveiling of Works of Art in Downtown Bayonne:  City officials joined artists and others for the unveiling of seven works of art that were painted on utility boxes and former fire alarm boxes from 5th Street to 9th Street.  Pictured here is one of the paintings, Aquarium, by Gary Wynans.   It is located on Cottage Street, slightly east of Broadway.  Pictured left to right: Council Member At-Large Juan Perez, Second Ward Council Member Sal Gullace, Mayor Jimmy Davis, City Council President Sharon Ashe  Nadrowski, Mr. Wynans, and First Ward Council Member Tom Cotter.

ART CIRCLE OF BAYONNE -Art Exhibit’s Opening Reception Set for Friday, February 8, at Museum

Artists show their work at newest exhibition in Bayonne

The Art Circle of Bayonne announced that the opening reception for its next art exhibit will take place on Friday, February 8, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., at the Bayonne Community Museum.  The museum is located at the northwest corner of 9th Street and Broadway.  This exhibit will include watercolors, photography, acrylics, oil paintings, and mixed media.  The opening night event will include a demonstration of charcoal sketching by artist Tuan Tran, the owner of Bee’s Art Studio.  Mayor Mark A. Smith said, “I would like to thank the Art Circle of Bayonne for sponsoring this exhibit at the museum.”  He continued, “My Administration is a strong supporter of the arts.  We took a major step last year by opening the museum for a variety of events that show the great artistic talent we have in the Bayonne community.” Continue reading ART CIRCLE OF BAYONNE -Art Exhibit’s Opening Reception Set for Friday, February 8, at Museum
