Hoboken’s Newest Wrangler of DIY Music, Dance and Visual Culture, Presents a Showcase of Local Talent

 The Benson Ridge Project, a relative newcomer in the Hoboken music scene, has organized a schedule of local talent to perform for the 2010 Hoboken Artist’s Studio Tour at Green Mountain Coffee.

Joining the annual Hoboken Artist’s Studio Tour for the first time, Benson Ridge, aka Al Festa has organized two jam packed days of live performances and workshops featuring jazz, rock, blues, county folk, tango dance demonstrations and a visual art exhibition featuring the paintings of Santiago Cohen and Anthony Dinallo at Green Mountain Coffee, 302 Monroe Street in Hoboken New Jersey 07030. Â All performances are free. Refreshments will be donated by our generous sponsors.
Stained-Glass Windows Find New Home at Holy Name Mausoleum In Jersey City
Restored artwork preserves faith within Hudson County Community
 Thirteen stained-glass windows will be unveiled in their new home at the Holy Name Mausoleum in Jersey City on Saturday, November 6th. These artifacts, which are valued over $525,000, were removed from Saint Boniface Parish Church and have undergone a rigorous restoration, uncovering the true beauty of their nineteenth century craftsmanship.
 “These fragile artifacts represent how our community has expressed its faith over the years,” said Andrew Schafer, Executive Director, Catholic Cemeteries, Archdiocese of Newark. “While the stained-glass pieces have a significant monetary value, they hold an even stronger sacramental worth to the Catholic Church and its generation upon generation of followers in Hudson County.”

HUDSON COUNTY CHAMBER LAUNCHES AD CAMPAIGN
Jersey City, NJ … Today the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce launched a promotional campaign designed to spur the business community into supporting fellow Hudson County based businesses.
The campaign theme is “We Make it Happen” and features six distinguished members of the association’s Board of Directors in a series of print, online and outdoor ads during a six week period. Hudson County Community College Awarded$2.97 Million from U.S. Department of Education
October 19, 2010, Jersey City, NJ – The United States Department of Education has awarded a $2.97 million grant to Hudson County Community College (HCCC). The College was selected for the award from the Title V – Hispanic-Serving Institutions competitive grants program titled “Building a 21st Century Community College.”
Hudson County Community College President Dr. Glen Gabert said the funding – which will be provided over a five-year period – will be dedicated to two major initiatives: (1) Expanding access and increasing student success and persistence through the establishment of a Center for Distance Education; and (2) strengthening the capacity of the College’s mathematics and technology programs. Fundraiser for Michael Worosila-Strength in Numbers:

It’s amazing how certain circumstances in life can bring people closer together; but even more amazing is for fellow coworkers, their corporation and a community to bond together to help one of their own. Â
Michael Worosila the five year old son of (Billie Worosila an IMTT field operator and his wife Kristin), has been suffering from a rare disease called AML-Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. First diagnosed in April of 2010 at the age of 4, Michael has been battling continuously to fight this deadly disease. He has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and has fought hard against high fevers.
