JERSEY CITY MEDICAL CENTER OPENS NEW CENTER FOR SLEEP DISORDER

“If sleepiness interferes with work or other daytime activities, and if you’re an adult who gets less than seven hours of sleep a night despite going to go to bed on time, it’s a good idea to get a sleep evaluation,” says pulmonologist Jyoti Matta, MD, Medical Director of the Center for Sleep Disorders at JCMC.

Since sleep-related breathing disorders are associated with an increased risk of hypertension, cardiac disease and stroke, it is important to get a diagnosis as soon as possible so that treatment may begin.
